Hyperice Normatec Elite Recovery System
The Normatec Elite puts the pump, the battery and the controls inside the boot itself. You sit down, zip up and press a button on your own leg. There is no control unit on the floor and no hose running to your ankle, which is what separates the Elite from every other Normatec system. Each boot weighs 3.2 lb and runs up to 4 hours on a charge.
Pressure comes from Hyperice's Pulse technology, working five overlapping zones up the leg with seven levels covering 40 to 110 mmHg. ZoneBoost gives extra time and pressure to a particular zone. HyperSync synchronizes each leg so you experience a symmetrical massage. Bluetooth connects the boots to the Hyperice App.

The interesting engineering here is subtraction. Hyperice moved the pump, the battery and the interface into the boot, then kept the boot to 3.2 lbs. The overlapping zone layout means each chamber runs into the next, so the pressure crosses the whole leg.

It is a dynamic air compression massage device. Air chambers inflate and release in sequence along the leg, working five overlapping zones from the foot upward. Hyperice's patented Pulse technology uses biomimicry to replicate the natural muscle pumps and one-way valves of the legs. Seven pressure levels cover 40 to 110 mmHg.
It runs with no separate control unit and no hose. Every other Normatec system in the range connects the attachment to a control unit by hose. On the Elite, the pump, battery and interface are built into each boot, and you set the pressure on the boot itself. It also carries the longest battery in the range at up to 4 hours.
Hyperice positions Normatec for athletes at every level, from amateurs to professionals, and the RFA listing says the same. The controls are the same whether you run a 2:30 marathon or walk 18 holes: pick a pressure level from one to seven, set a duration, and sit down. Nothing about the Elite assumes a pro training load.
The RFA listing states that beyond sports recovery, Normatec can be beneficial in medical and therapeutic settings, especially in managing muscle fatigue and soreness or for recovery from certain types of injuries. That is the listing's wording. Hyperice publishes no FDA status for the Normatec line and we are not going to invent one, so treat the Elite as recovery equipment and ask your own clinician about any specific condition or injury.
The listing's guidance is that Normatec can be used both pre and post-workout: 15 to 20 minutes at medium intensity before a workout, and 20 to 60 minutes of medium to high intensity treatment afterwards. Hyperice's page gives the same 20 to 60 minute window.
Sessions are recommended to last between 20 to 60 minutes, with 20 to 30 minutes the typical duration. The listing notes that as little as 15 to 20 minutes at medium intensity is already a worthwhile session, particularly before training. A full 4 hour battery covers roughly eight sessions at the 30 minute mark.
Normatec sizes by inseam. Short is an inseam under 31", Standard is 31" to 35", and Tall is over 35". If you land between two sizes, Hyperice recommends sizing down for a more secure fit — a boot with a little tension in it seals better than one with slack.
